Fragility (2017)

Fragility is a sculptural work consisting of many spherical objects created from moulding bees wax and organic plant matter together. This ephemeral artwork decays over time, the leaves and petals begin to visibly rot. Alongside the visible impact of time on the work, the smell of the decaying organic matter is also affect the viewer, enhancing the sense of decay. The work aims to highlight the fragility of all things living, with focus and inspiration from the Japanese aesthetic concept of Wabi-Sabi.
